How Letting Refugees In Our Country Can Benefit Us

Omar Rahimi, whose family came to Canada as refugees from Iraq in 2001, said he has meaningful employment and wants to help other newcomers find the same thing.

People like Omar Rahimi are great people, it just happens that Rahimi and his family came as refugees to Canada. So far, he has created a website that helps other refugees find jobs that are meaningful to them. "My family came here in 2001. Before we came to Canada, we lived in the Al Tash refugee camp in the desert of western Iraq. I now have meaningful employment, and I want to help others find the same." says Omar. People like this can help other refugees find safety and happiness, while as well helping the economy, by making more jobs.

Let’s move onto someone more famous.

The founder of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud had to flee to London at 83, after having lived in Austria for 79 years. Psychoanalysis is something that could’ve helped us a long time ago, since it's the system of psychological theory and therapy that aims to help and aid mental disorders. If Freud hadn’t fled from Austria, we could’ve never discovered psychoanalysis, which would render us near to useless on helping mental disorders.

Someone Else, that you should know.

Steve jobs, the used-to-be owner of Apple Inc. was a child of a Syrian Refugee. Even though he was adopted, he probably would’ve never pursued to create one of the most incredible pieces of technology at the time. He could’ve had a completely different lifestyle if he was adopted by someone else, he could’ve been influenced by his environment differently than he was by his Syrian Refugee father.
