Syria at the moment and hundreds of thousands of refugees are moving into the towns. But this town in Georgia has more Syrian Refugees than LA and NYC combined! That’s crazy! And according to americanimmigrationcouncil.org it stated that in 2015, the Syrian population in the U.S was approximately 4.2 MILLION! That’s a huge amount of just only SYRIAN refugees out of the ~300 million Americans.
A refugee who resorted to the Netherlands gave a quote to Brainyquotes.com. Ayaan Hirsi Ali stated “My first experience in the Netherlands was very pleasant, extremely pleasant. I mean, I got my residence permit, refugee status, within four weeks of arrival. People treated me extremely well.” From this quote we can tell how nice the Dutch handle the refugees. But how does our own country, the United States handle this?
The United States was built around helping others and improving the lives of others. This establishment led to one of the most prestigious countries in the world. But President Trump has now passed an Executive Order that seven countries have been banned for their citizens to enter United States soil. One of those seven is, as expected, Syria. Also, according to CNN Politics, the Executive Order states that for the next 90 days, the seven Muslim-majority countries cannot allow citizens pass into the State's beside Syria which is indefinitely banned. Those seven countries include Syria, Libya, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Yemen, and Somalia. But through all of this, America is neglecting the Syrian refugees. It’s like it’s not our problem anymore.
Our Country is neglecting the refugees in Syria where the refugee count is rising quick. If you do know a refugee please support them. Listen to their stories because it can be very interesting. Before, and a few weeks ago, like that town, we really did help refugees. And we should continue to do so. Not only to help them, but Humanity.
